Buying an antique online is mostly an act of trust: you cannot pick the piece up, turn it over, or feel the weight of the iron before it arrives. Old World Imports Antiques is built to take as much of that guesswork out as a photograph and an honest description can.
Our story
We started with a simple frustration shared by anyone who collects older home pieces — listings that show one flattering angle and tell you almost nothing about size, finish, or condition. A pair of leaf bookends can be cast iron or painted resin, a brass mirror can be solid or plated, and the difference matters to the person buying it. So we built a small shop where the description does the work the photo cannot.
What we sell

How we choose what to stock
Because patina and age are part of the appeal, our listing standard is about honest detail rather than flawlessness. For metalware we note the material and finish — cast iron, brass, brass-finish — so "brass" is never assumed when it means plated. For ceramics and frames we give the dimensions and any intentional distressing, so a daisy trinket dish or a ribbed frame reads true to scale on the page. If a piece cannot be described accurately, we do not list it.
Ordering and delivery
Older and irregular pieces are packed with extra care, since a hammered knob set and a standing mirror do not travel the same way. Orders are processed within 2–5 business days and standard U.S. delivery typically takes another 3–7 business days after dispatch, with free standard shipping on every order and tracking emailed once the parcel leaves us.
Returns and problems
Decorative antiques are returnable within 30 days when they come back unused and in their original packaging. If a piece arrives damaged in transit — always a risk with cast metal and stoneware — tell us within 7 days with photos of the item, the packaging, and the shipping label, and we will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
